Position Summary:

This position’s role has accountability and responsibility for ASGE’s education program coordination and production.   Develops and administers educational programs that advance diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic treatments worldwide for a variety of gastrointestinal diseases. This position will develop, implement, monitor, and document continuing medical education (CME) activities in compliance with requirements of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) notably with The Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education.  Responsibilities will include planning and executing various medical education programs (CME and non-CME), working collaboratively with internal departments and committees, and effectively delivering educational programming through multiple channels. This full-time, nonsupervisory position reports to the Senior Manager of Accreditation, Education and Training and is based at our headquarter office in Downers Grove, Illinois.  The position is offered with a hybrid work schedule.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the planning and support of education programs based on adult learning principles (including CME and non-CME activities).
  2. Assist the department in the development, implementation, and facilitation of educational initiatives, including, live, virtual, and enduring activities.
  3. Develop, track, and maintain CME activity documentation, evaluation data, and credit verification to ensure full compliance with ACCME Criteria and Policies.
  4. Collect, identify, mitigate, and disclose relevant financial relationships by implementing and documenting the disclosure management process.
  5. Maintain timely, accurate records within ACCME PARS system and assist with preparation of annual accreditation reports
  6. Manage and provide administrative support for webinars and other professional education activities, including faculty invitations, collection of financial disclosures, resolution, and mitigation of conflicts of interest, presentation review, and honoraria and expense reimbursements.
  7. Recommend goals, educational content, delivery channels and objectives for scientific education programs based on documented needs assessments, including subject matter expert (SME) recommendations, gap analysis, industry trends, staff and member input.
  8. Work with SMEs on content selection and timelines and design program deliverables that are based on adult learning theory, agile, and can be modified at each major milestone, if required, in order to meet CME requirements, delivery timelines, or other commitments.
  9. Assist in the development and implementation of a methodologically sound strategy for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data for quality improvement and evaluation for all educational activities. Utilize data and member and participant feedback to recommend solutions that will improve learner experience.
  10. Serve as the staff liaison for assigned Education and Training Committees, actively supporting the work and programs of the committees and subcommittees.
  11. Provide administrative support and assist in development of processes and procedures for writing, administering, and reconciling medical education grants in compliance with ACCME requirements
  12. Occasional travel (<10% per year)



  1. Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Instructional design, instructional technology or virtual instruction related degree, Health Education, Nursing, or a related field.
  2. Entry level position for recent college graduate and/or an early career, up to 3 years of work experience in Healthcare Education or CME programming and administration ideal.
  3. Knowledge of the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education and AMA Physician Recognition Award (PRA) requirements
  4. Proficiency in standard computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, virtual meeting platforms) with demonstrated aptitude for quickly and efficiently learning and embracing new software
  5. Demonstrated proficiency in prioritizing, organization, time management, and project management with strong attention to detail
  6. Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed
  7. Strong technical skills with proven aptitude for learning, configuring, and integrating new technologies into workflow
  8. Multicultural sensitivity and proven ability to collaborate effectively with all constituencies
  9. Ability to collaborative in a diverse, global, team-based community.
  10. Exceptional communication skills with proven ability to communicate via telephone, computer, and in person.
  11. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced publications environment.
  12. Have excellent organizational and time-management skills, creativity, willingness to experiment, and be highly motivated and achievement-oriented.
  13. Due to the nature of our educational programming and related committee meetings, some weekend and evening related work is required.
