  1. Serve as a member of the program leadership and development team.
  2. Oversee the coordination of CASA of Lexington’s fundraising efforts including creating and implementing an annual giving campaign, major gifts, partnerships, development-related marketing, fundraising events and any major gifts campaigns.
  3. Plan, manage, organize and execute special events including event sponsorships, race donations and auction items.
  4. Coordinate and oversee Third Party Fundraisers. Act as main point of contact.
  5. Lead sponsorship efforts for all projects and events.
  6. Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date annual development plan.
  7. Cultivate, steward and nurture relationships with current and potential donors.
  8. Supervise the Advancement Coordinator and oversee duties including managing the donor database system, composing segmented written appeals, completing direct mail campaigns, and stewarding relationships with donors.
  9. Communicate and interview all prospective interns and VISTA candidates and supervise those selected.
  10. Participate in recruitment events.
  11. Oversee development of all event-marketing materials.
  12. Track development activity as needed in database.
  13. Serve as staff representative and attend all development committees of the board.
  14. Work with Community Engagement Coordinator to ensure social media and website content for special events when needed.
  15. Research grant opportunities to support the organization.
  16. Speak to individuals and groups about CASA.
  17. Interact and communicate professionally, pleasantly and effectively with all partners of CASA.
  18. Meet annual goals set for position/program, including annual targets for events and other fundraising.
  19. Any other reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications of Development Manager position: Bachelors level degree or equivalent work experience required. Experience with special events and/or development activities preferred.  Highly organized, detail-oriented, proficient at navigating multiple critical priorities, excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation and public speaking skills. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with quick adaptability and advanced problem-solving skills.

Conditions of Employment: Flexible schedule includes regular office hours, frequent evening, and weekend work.  Bending and lifting when setting up for events, moving donations, etc.  Standing for long periods when making presentations, at special events, etc.  Must have daily transportation in order to attend meetings and represent CASA in public.
