Sr. Meeting Planner
Join one of the top Convention and Meeting Services teams at the nation’s leading advocacy organizations for children’s healthcare, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
Reporting to the Director, Meeting & Travel Services, this Meeting Planner will manage the meeting services activities and contract negotiations for the AAP Leadership Conference, Advocacy Conference, and all other assigned meetings, as well as collaborate with the Board of Directors (BOD) and other constituents in the planning and execution of meetings.
Must have at least 4 years’ related meeting planning experience required, including site selection, contract negotiation, managing meeting specifications, budget management and forecasting, on-site support, and staff supervisory or team lead experience. Experience working with Board members and within an association preferred. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, communication, business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. Professional designation (CMP, CAE) preferred.
Frequent travel and evening/ weekend work required.

Hybrid requirement of 40% in office presence per month.
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $82,182.66 - $86,755.50. Compensation decisions take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic location, business needs, and organizational policies. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
