Position OverviewThe Office of Admissions reports to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management which includes the following functional units: Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Graduate Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Student Information Systems, Enrollment Management Services and the Office of the University Registrar.
The Office of Admissions is responsible for domestic undergraduate admissions for both freshman and transfer students. The Office of Admissions coordinates the overall recruitment strategy for KU including high school and community college relations, on and off campus events, prospect and inquiry data management, application processing, transfer credit evaluation, and communications.
The Admissions Event Coordinator, reporting to the Assistant Director of Campus Visits and Events, assists in the coordination of on and off campus recruitment events. This person will also assist high-touch recruitment initiatives and visits through personal attention and service to prospective students and families during the campus visit.\u0026nbsp; As the campus visit is the most important conversion and yield strategy, this position ensures the visit experience not only meets, but exceeds expectations for prospective students and guests. \u0026nbsp;
In addition, the position supports the overall university recruitment efforts by providing recruitment support through participation in campus visit programming, conducting large and small group presentations, and meeting with prospective students and guests. Some evening and weekend work required.

Event Coordination (55%)
- Independently coordinates on-campus events as determined by the Assistant and Associate Director of Campus Visits and Events.
- Orchestrates event logistics and staffing for on campus events, collaborates with key university stakeholders, and partner with KU ambassador program on key pre and post-event setup.
- Assists with monthly on call calendar that assigns recruitment staff to presentations and on-call shifts.
- Ensures pre and post-event communications are set up for events.
- Conducts program evaluation and incorporates feedback and results to enhance future programming efforts.
- Coordinates with Athletics for any ticketing needs for events.
- Assists with coordination and/or creation of agendas, presentations, etc. to make sure visit and event preparation is complete.
- Works with KU constituents (KU Endowment Association, KU Alumni Association, KU Athletics, the Provost and Chancellor's offices as well as other departments/units across campus) to identify prospective students to provide high-touch recruitment outreach and visit coordination.
- Assists with the coordination of personalized prospective student visit experiences.\u0026nbsp; This includes requests for Saturday tours, legacy visit requests and visits that fall outside the traditional daily visit realm.\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;
- Participates as a host in prospective visit experiences as needed.
- Provides presentations in a central public speaking role to small and large groups of prospective students, families, and community stakeholders; communicates KU's competitive advantage at on and off campus events.
- Is an active member of the admissions on-call team; in this role they will support the daily campus visit program by meeting 1:1 with prospective students and their families, along with friends of the university.\u0026nbsp; Additionally, they will meet with walk-in office visitors and respond to telephone and email inquiries.
- Staffs targeted recruitment events that occur on-campus and off-campus (both in Kansas and out-of-state) as necessary.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;
- Since this position is primarily on campus, this position may present weekly throughout the year when daily visits are held.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant and Associate Director of Campus Visits and Events.
