Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa is recruiting an Event Planning Manager to support on Task Force. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. Opening in early 2025, the property boasts 287 guestrooms including 34 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience. Each suite is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, most with deep-soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. Unmatched amenities include a full-service spa, a well-equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by José Andrés, two pools, and a Beach Club catering to the who's who of Miami. Position Summary

The Event Planning Manager's primary focus is servicing Sale bookings. This position acts as the liaison between Meeting Planners and the hotel staff. Responsibilities include: administering the Sales agreement, detailing all Food, Beverage and A/V needs, managing room blocks and pick up, billing instructions and final review. Event Planning Managers also are the on-site contacts and are responsible for the smooth execution of all events.

Position Responsibilities/ Essential Functions

• Responsible for short and long term planning and the management of Event Sales and Event Planning.
• Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manages within those approved plans.
• Maintain or exceed budgeted sales and profits in all event areas.
• Develop and implement effective marketing plans for generating catering revenues.
• Experience evaluating each piece of event business to ensure business meets the expectations of the guests.
• Ability to put together creative and innovative menus based on collaboration with the Culinary.
• Work closely with Chef on pricing specialty menus.
• Train, supervise and work with event staff, in order to solicit and book banquet and event functions, as well as the planning, merchandising and execution of the functions
• Work closely with Director of Banquets and their team to create and ensure quality levels are being met on a daily basis as well as enhancing overall banquet set-ups.
• Leads event team to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel Event sales objectives
• Administer all phases of the event department, including but not limited to sales, planning, marketing, servicing and administrative procedures
• Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures

Qualifications

Event Planning Manager Requirements and Qualifications

• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
• Refined verbal and written communication skills
• A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event sales/event planning or comparable experience preferred
• Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
• Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, organized and be able to handle a fast paced environment
• Prefer two years hotel experience or completed Event Management trainee program
• Good leadership skills.
• Ability to multitask and highly Organized.
• Proficiency in various event software.
