Job Purpose
The Director of Golf is responsible for maintaining an excellent private club golfing experience for members and guests by providingmanagement, marketing, and merchandise services to maximize golf operations.
Responsibilities
Enhance member relations by working with General Manager and department managers to deliver exceptional golf experiences
Oversee the organization and promotion of lesson programs, junior golf programs, golf leagues, club competitions, group and individual programs; coordinating with Tournament Director or Event Coordinator on all aspects of event preparation
Manage golf operations staff by recruiting, selecting, hiring, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, supervising, evaluating, andcarrying out disciplinary actions as necessary
Ensure playability of the golf course
Create and follow an annual departmental budget
Work closely with marketing management to maintain competitive market knowledge, and to create and develop promotions andspecial events to increase revenue opportunities
Oversee golf merchandise operations, including purchasing, pricing, and display; creating merchandise sales, promotions, anddiscounts; preparing inventory and cost of sales reports
Maintain knowledge of teaching methodologies in the golf industry
Utilize "ACE Service Absolutes" by acknowledging, greeting, and thanking all members and guests
Assist General Manger in the delivery of staff meetings
Implement and support all AGC initiatives and programs as requested by management
Support the sales process with booking and re-booking golf tournaments
Other duties may be assigned by management
Additional Information
PGA Class A Professional required
2 or more years' experience teaching the game of golf
3-4 years' experience in a management role
Basic math skills
Education

Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs.
Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk,balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be requiredto lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
