OverviewChampions Run is located in Omaha, Nebraska and is a full service golf and social country club with a unique group of family, friendly members. We pride ourselves on being the most family centric club in the Midwest. The club offers a wide array of programs and services including wine dinners, couples' events, social gatherings, live entertainment, junior golf, tennis and swimming programs. Our junior programming is one of the largest and most engaging programs in the state, with over 180 kids in the junior golf, 200 in our tennis and 300 on our swim and dive teams. A golf membership includes the use of our first-class practice facilities, service from an award winning staff consisting of 6 PGA Professionals, 2 PGM/Associates, 1 Summer Intern, and a fully stocked golf shop. Champions Run's 18 hole layout was designed by Jeff Brauer can be played around 7,050 yards from the back tees and as short as 4,865 from the forward tees. Golf Operation Stats:-18 holes of golf-Annual rounds of 27,000 to 30,000-65 Club Car carts with Visage GPS technology-30 member tournaments/yr (Men, Ladies, Juniors) - 2 ladies leagues (200 ladies)-14 Corporate Golf Outings on Monday's-Total lessons given by staff and PGA Director of Instruction - 1,600/yr-Staff managed - 9 Golf Shop staff and 18-22 Outside Service staff-Approximate Golf Shop sales - $1,200,000
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage our Outside Services Staff. Hire new employees as needed from year to year. Train new staff with current staff on policies and procedures. Hold a beginning of the year orientation to make sure everyone is up to speed and ready for each golf season.
- Become familiar with Hot Schedules and creating a weekly/monthly schedule for the Outside Staff. Monitor how many shifts and hours each employee is working. Approve or deny shift swaps and covers. Ensure that the operation has the proper amount of staff needed for different events and time of day based on traffic.
- Be a point person for our Monday Outings. Help in organizing the set up of the event prior to the event date using Golf Genius or Golf Status. Be there day of to ensure the event is ready to go per the event coordinator's instructions.
- Help manage the daily operations from the golf shop. Check in members and guests making sure they start their round on time. Monitor pace of play using Visage technology from the golf shop but also going on the course if needed to help along slower players.
- Answer phone calls to make tee times, answer questions about upcoming events, sign players up for tournaments, and anything else they may need.
- Assist in organizing merchandise in the golf shop, keeping product folded and looking professional, and keeping the shop clean and tidy.
- Assist with our member events. This would include anything from monitoring sign up, setting up in Golf Genius, staging carts day of, before event announcements, collecting entry fees, monitoring pace of play, scoring and announcing results, organizing and running derbies and playoffs, and distributing credit book to member accounts.
- Be an instructor for our junior Kraken Kamp summer program. Assist with setup before, cleanup after, and execute the lesson plans of the camp each day. Potentially assist with other programming such as Spring After School, White Claw Wednesday, Junior on Course, and anything else that may be needed in junior or lesson space.
- Become familiar with major product line hard goods (Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Cobra) and learn more about the fitting process.
- Run inventory reports and help to ensure inventory levels are correct. Monitor our demo and fitting cart products to ensure we know who has them and that they are returned in a timely manner.
